I will be linking this post with Judy Laquidara's post at Patchwork Times.

Another crazy quilt completed!

This crazy lap quilt is also a gift for my husband's Aunt. It is all done in batiks. You take 9 fat quarters. You stack them on top of each other, make cuts and shuffle the fabric. It is an interesting and simple way to complete a quilt. I took a class at the LQS to learn how to do this method. I used Fluffy Clouds pantograph.

Newest completed quilt

Just completed a lap quilt, pieced and quilted to bring on our trip to Hawaii. It is a thank you gift to a cousin for letting us stay at her condos. It is a design called Morning Tides by Lucy A. Fazely. I don't remember the fabric name. I think it turned out well and I hope she likes it. The pantograph i used is called Plumeria by Patricia E. Ritter available at Urban Elements.

My Garden is exploding!

My garden is exploding in growth. The weather has been perfect! I expect to be eating a fair amount of salads in the next month.

Swap some fabric...?

I am part of a fabric swap group for Canadians. You should check it out. We we looking for a few more Canadian quilters to join this second round swap. Maybe this would interest you. All of the details are listed on the posts.

Pillows for a friend

I just made 2 pillows for a friend who is leaving our workplace. I used a fabric that was special to her heart. I think they turned out well.

Garden update June 11

The weather has been very cooperative. Sunny for a few days rain for one. The garden is flourishing. I love the fence that is keeping the rabbit out so the lettuce can grow.  Plants look great! I add composted cow manure from the local farmer and all my plants love it.

Garden and yard...2013

A very hot day that winds down with a cooling rain. My garden is planted and secured with a plastic fence this year. Plants are blooming.

It is fun to sit out on the front porch listening and watching the rain.

A child's size quilt

Here is another community quilt for a small child using a panel and adding borders. One of the community quilters made this. I did the LA quilting. I used a sunburst pattern.

A Baby Beauty

This little baby quilt is another beautiful quilt for a local community charity done by some hard working ladies at the local quilt shop. I loved working on it with the beautiful colours.

Community quilts

I have been asked to LA quilts that were made at the LQS for a local charity. I am enjoying the time long arm quilting and I enjoy doing it for such a great local organization. Thank you LQS for the opportunity to do so. Here are the first 3 of 9 that I am doing right now.

My First Commissioned Quilt

This is my first commissioned quilt for a friend's mom. It is a simple pieced queen size pattern that I adapted from a lap size from the LQS. The customer picked out the fabrics. The pantograph I used is called "Drift". It has a bit of a oak leaf look to it. The back is a nice soft flannel in green with tiny leaves on it. I used a varigated purple thread. The tension was much better on Glory Be- the long arm. I hope she likes the quilt.

The Hawaii quilt

I have just started the Hawaii lap quilt. It will be staying in Hawaii as a gift. This is the first block. When put together with other blocks it will look like waves. The colours match the decor of the place we will be staying.

God is good!

No matter what life brings, I know God is there for me. My faith has grown in the past 6 months and I am so thankful. Technology has played a role believe it or not! My iPad has a bible app called You Version. It has daily readings and different versions of the bible. I read much more than I ever have in my 29 years of being a born again believer. Even Instagram has a page called instapray with great little pictures with bible verses or sayings as seen below. I pray that my family will find God so faithful too. What a blessing these past few months have been.
