Second little project with Abby

Abby has some nice decorative stitches!

My first project with Abby

I decided to try some of the fancy stitches Abby has. I made a sunglass case. I hope to make 2 more. I think it turned out well.

My first very own sewing machine!

Welcome to my new Ambition 1.0 Pfaff sewing machine. Since I named my LA quilt machine Glory Be, I have given this new addition the name Abby. It comes from the Hebrew language. It means two things "Father rejoiced" and " gives joy". Perfect! Here is Abby at home in my sewing room. She looks good and ready to give joy as my Father in heaven rejoices for the lives the finished products will touch.
Thank you so much to my Mom for giving me one of the best 45th birthday presents a daughter and crafter would want.

Two more monkeys

I completed another set of monkeys. Here's what they look like.

Monkeying around...

I have started a new embroidery block with monkeys and kids playing sports. So far I am just working on the monkeys. It goes with some fabric I have to make a quilt. I am thinking I should use brown or black for the eyes next time.

Last of the Little Birdie Embroidery block

Well I am finished the last Little Birdie Embroidery Block. Now I need to do the sashing, put it together, and borders. I have a backing for it already.

Oct and Nov Little Birdie embroidery

Well I am almost finished the Little Birdie Embroidery blocks. Here is October and November. I am half way through December's.

My first crazy quilt!

I took a class at Kindred Spirits, my local quilt shop. After a two 3 hr classes, we learned a fast way to make a crazy quilt. I had 10 fat quarters I got from Sew Sisters fat quarter club. I wasn't sure what to do with them so I came up with this. I had to borrow my mom's machine to do the fancy stitching. I hope to give it to my friend I haven't talked to in a while. She has been on my mind lately.

February "Getting it done" challenge 2013

I did we'll last month adding more projects as I got done. I think this might be it for February. My son's quilt is queen size. The other quilts have been lap quilts.

5. if nothing on the long arm... work on another baby quilt
6. Long arm my Mom's quilt

My Niece's 16th birthday quilt

When my nieces and nephew turn 16 they receive a lap quilt from me. Since I have purchased a long arm quilt machine I am excited to complete a quilt from piecing to long arm to binding. Here is my first one done all at home. I hope she likes it! The pantograph is called Stars and Loops. The fabric is from Moda: American Primer.

Two more embroidery Birdie blocks

I am enjoying the progress that I can see when I do embroidery. Knitting isn't as fast. It is a neat way to blend it with quilting. The one with the flowers is May and the tent one is June.

Embroidery and Quilting!

I am working a series called Birdie Stitches quilt that incorporates hand embroidery with quilting. The embroidery is something I can do in the car and sitting around the house. I am enjoying seeing the pictures come to life. These pictures are of Jan., Feb., Mar., and April pictures.

Quilting and Working...

These are the many quilts I have been working on and enjoying every minute.  Even with errors or problems, I see each as a learning experience.  I thank God for this love of quilting and being able to serve in our church.  I also enjoy helping out my sister and Mom with their various projects.

New Addition!

I got a long arm quilt machine!!  I am so thankful for this new addition for a few reasons.  The store that I used to rent the long arm from is not renting anymore.  Second, I now can help long arm prayer quilts for church.  I can also do my own or any family members quilts.  I love the whole process.  I feel blessed to have this machine.  Doors have opened up that were closed before.  I would eventually like to turn it into a business.  "Glory Be" is what it is called.  Short for Glory Be to God for providing all of this!  I am excited what will be in store in the future!  I have a blog for Glory Be going: http://gbtgquilting3.blogspot.ca/
